What the Turkish Ministry of Health authorization actually means

Health tourism in Turkey is a regulated activity. What the official certificate covers, and how to verify a provider’s authorization yourself.
If you are researching treatment in Turkey, you will see many providers claim to be "authorized". This article explains what the official authorization actually is — and how to check it.
The regulation
Turkey regulates international health services through its Ministry of Health. Clinics and physicians who serve international patients are expected to hold an official health tourism authorization certificate. It is issued to named, inspected providers — not something a website can simply claim.
What it tells you
The authorization confirms that the provider is a real, registered medical facility or practice operating within the Turkish health system and approved for international patient services. It does not rank providers or guarantee outcomes — no document can do that — but it separates registered medical providers from unregulated intermediaries.
How to verify it
The Ministry's official Health Türkiye platform lists authorized providers. Ask any provider for their authorization and check the listing at the official source. A provider who is genuinely authorized will encourage you to verify it; hesitation is itself an answer.
Why we publish ours
We display our authorization certificate on this site together with a direct link to the official government listing, because verifiable facts are worth more than adjectives. We recommend applying the same standard to any provider you consider — including us.
